ITAD and e-Waste

Secure Transportation are an ISO 9001:2015 accredited specialist white glove courier transport and technical installation company and are authorised by their clients to carry out their IT Asset Disposition (usually referred to as ITAD) all over the UK and European Union.

ITAD is the practice of properly decommissioning and disposing of hardware and electronic devices and is part of Secure Transportation's portfolio of services handling our clients product lifecycle management.

It is critical for ensuring your company’s data is protected and that your end of life equipment doesn’t end up in the wrong hands or landfill.

Depending on a clients' specific requirements or operating procedures, equipment can be processed onsite, or securely transported offsite to either of our warehouse facilities at London Heathrow or Farnborough Airport.

Stage 1

Whichever option is chosen, we can pre sort the equipment, compile our own asset register and then cross reference this with the client if they have one.
Removal of all visible asset tags ensuring electronic devices can no longer be traced back to your company.

Stage 2

Data bearing devices such as HDD and SSD's are removed.
Make, model and serial number captured using a handheld barcode scanner.
Drives are then shredded using our HSM Powerline StoreEx HDS 150 hard disk drive shredder.
A Certifiacte of destruction (COD) is then produced for the client's records.

This ensures that your proprietary data cannot be leaked, and the electronic devices can no longer be tied back to your organization.

All waste material is then transported securely to our approved precious metal refiners who will then process the waste material further to extract the valuable materials ensuring nothing goes to landfill.

Stage 3

Finally, the equipment can either be stored for reuse, recycled, or donated.

Secure Transportation have our own Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling partner who are a regulated and Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) and will issue the necessary certification to prove your electronic waste has been legally disposed of.

Securely wrap and band the servers 4 ways to pallets and transport back to our warehouse at London Heathrow Airport.

All hard disk drives shredded off site. The remaining hardware exported back to The Netherlands for processing.
