UK transport coverage from Heathrow and Farnborough

Nationwide coverage is easy to claim. Running it is harder, and we do it with our own vehicles out of two warehouses rather than a network of agents. One is four miles from London Heathrow Airport, at the heart of the UK colocation datacentre industry, and the other is our headquarters near Farnborough Airport in rural Hampshire, roughly 30 minutes away, and both hold pallet racking, build areas and prep tables. Between them that is around 9,000 sq ft, with 24 hour call out for clients' equipment.

What we can reach, and how quickly

From Heathrow and Farnborough we cover the whole of the UK on our own vehicles, and Europe by road, with airfreight where the timescale demands it. A same day run to Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff or Glasgow is normal work rather than an event, and where a job needs a vehicle standing by at the far end overnight for an early morning start, we position it the night before. Live tracking goes to your desktop or your phone. We do not cross-dock and we do not co-load, so what goes on at your end is what comes off at the other, and there is one driver in between who you can speak to.

Storage at both ends of the job

A lot of national work needs somewhere to put things, before, after or in the middle. Farnborough runs to 6,500 sq ft with 600 pallet spaces in racking, another 100 out of gauge on the floor, three fork, reach and stacker trucks, three phase power distributed to 16 and 32 amp at 240 volts, build areas, prep tables, customer hot desking and three 42u pre-staging racks with connectivity. Heathrow is 2,500 sq ft with 250 pallet spaces, 50 out of gauge, two trucks and a 24u rack. Both are on a warehouse management system, both have full fibre, both are alarmed to an NSI Gold alarm receiving centre with police response and monitored CCTV. Storage can be a night or a year.

The awkward jobs, which is most of them

The reason people ring is usually not the mileage, it is the last hundred metres: a basement car park with a 2.0 metre barrier, a loading bay that will not take an 18 tonner, a goods lift out of service on the day, a room on the fourth floor with a staircase that turns twice. We size the vehicle to the access, not the other way round, and if the lift is out we bring a powered stair climber and carry on. Where a job genuinely needs 26 or 44 tonne artics, we bring those in through an approved partner rather than tell you it will fit. Ask us before you commit to a date.
