Farnborough Airport is our headquarters, 6,500 square feet including offices, with 600 racked pallet spaces, 100 out of gauge floor spaces and three fork, reach and stacker trucks. Heathrow, in Hayes, gives another 2,500 square feet with 250 racked spaces, 50 on the floor and two trucks, and it sits right in the middle of the UK colocation datacentre industry, which is why most of our data centre clients want their kit held there. The two are about half an hour apart. Both have parking, three phase power distributed to 16 and 32 amp 240 volt outlets, and full fibre broadband. Farnborough also has a customer hot desk.
Both warehouses are monitored by an NSI Gold alarm receiving centre with police response, which is the National Security Inspectorate's top grade, and both have 24 hour monitored CCTV. There is a 24 hour call out facility at each site for client access, which gets used more than you would think, usually on a Sunday. Warehouse keepers insurance carries a limit of liability of £5,000, conditions applying, and where a client needs more than that we will discuss a specific arrangement rather than pretend the standard cover stretches to cover it. Goods are stored under RHA conditions of storage. We are ISO 9001:2015 accredited for storage, packing, courier transportation, IT relocation and installation and waste disposal.
Storage on its own is rarely enough. We de-box and recycle the waste packaging so it does not travel with the equipment, re-box or custom pack for onward shipment, and hold the whole lot on our warehouse management system with serials captured on a handheld barcode scanner. When a programme creates a backflow of old equipment we take that in too, sort it, remove visible asset tags, shred the drives on our HSM Powerline StoreEx HDS 150 at 210 an hour and issue a certificate of destruction. Secure Transportation is registered as an upper tier waste carrier, broker and dealer with the Environment Agency, registration number CBDU551195, and the residual hardware goes through an approved authorised treatment facility. Nothing goes to landfill.
