Stair Climber – Clinical Sites

We deploy the correct powered stair climber for each asset profile—tracked units for heavy, top-heavy loads and upright climbers for compact carts or towers. We protect floors, thresholds and walls with corner guards, floor runners and door jamb shields, then secure equipment with rated straps and cradles. Crews perform a route walk, confirm landing space and communicate at each turn. Typical items include ultrasound systems, anaesthesia machines, ventilators, endoscopy towers, incubators, vaccine fridges and benchtop analysers. Every move is coordinated to clinical schedules with clear start/finish documentation.

Hospital moves demand more than muscle. Our clinical stair climber SOP covers PPE, trolley decontamination, clean/dirty route segregation and packaging removal with debris control. We liaise with Estates/EBME to agree sterile areas, quiet hours and escort requirements, and we brief crews on ward etiquette and patient privacy. RAMS and toolbox talks highlight pinch points (stairs, landings, door widths), manual handling techniques and emergency stops. Post-move, we complete a clean handover and waste removal to keep corridors clear and clinics operational.

Every job includes Risk Assessment & Method Statement, lift contingency, and a chain-of-custody log from collection to point-of-use delivery. We barcode or serial-capture assets, photograph key stages (pre-wrap, landings, final position) and record crew sign-offs with timestamps. For time-critical installs, we coordinate with OEM engineers and can combine stair climber delivery with white-glove placement, power/data check and packaging removal. You receive a consolidated completion report for audit and Estates records.
