Secure Transportation are just back from another server relocation. This time a de rack of one of 4 Dell PowerEdge R930 servers in Global Switch 2 in London's Docklands to their sister DC in Paris . A straight forward de rack and pack using the OEM packaging. The shipment was fully insured under our bespoke marine cargo policy. We can quote without referral up to £0.5m.

At an undisclosed location and after a lengthy booking in procedure (and the obligatory strong coffee!) Secure Transportation once again assisted their Dutch client with the delivery and positioning of 10 fully populated racks in to a datacenter for Microsoft.  The 6 man team completed the job within a 4 hour window. 

It is always a pleasure to assist our Dutch Specialist Logistics colleagues @ http://dejongkoeriers.nl with a little local knowledge and extra helping hands. We can't take credit for it all though, and special thanks also to https://www.gallowglass.com for their assistance with some extra local crew. At the end of the day it is all about team work and using the best resources available to get the job done. After a little Dutch courage and a bit of Greek / Spanish and British muscle there was one happy customer.

Monday saw the start of another project for one of our regular clients that is going to span across several months. This first stage involved the de / re rack of 12 chassis's from different manufactures from one location to another in the same site up in Manchester.

Site survey completed before the project begun and insurance cover for up to £750k under our bespoke engineers policy for whilst we are handling the equipment on site.

We have all the equipment to facilitate even the most awkward jobs. Hydraulic lifting equipment, bespoke flight cases, ramps and floor coverings to make the task as easy as possible.

The re rack begins. 10 hours from start to finish and 12 chassis de racked and re racked, and another happy client.

Secure Transportation's knowledge base extends across all major brands. In the latter part of January this year we undertook the next phase of an ongoing project. This part involved the de rack of a couple of HP blade servers using our very own designed and custom fabricated chassis lift and slide system (CLASS™) and securely pack in some of our bespoke split trunk flight cases ready for transport. 

All our flight cases are custom made specifically for the transportation of sensitive IT equipment and are anti static foam lined. We also have 24u rack shock mount flight cases suitable for large network routers.

With freeze change well under way for most of our clients this straight forward Juniper MX960 fresh install in to a non live rack is possibly the last installation we shall be doing this year. Collected from our client's office in London and racked up in Equinix LD4 Slough.

We stripped the chassis down and temporarily housed the line cards in our anti static lined flight case rack whilst installing it with our chassis lift and slide system (CLASS™)

With a lift too small to accommodate the OEM packing crates or any of our flight cases and 2 steps exiting the building to this "bomb site" of a car park (they are demolishing for redevelopment but have found over 70 bodies there hence the excavation!) it was always going to be difficult. Fortunately the weather was on our side and we have all the necessary equipment to overcome any obstacle that is put in our way.

We have been using Andy for several significant projects over the past couple of years. This includes the shipping and assistance with racking of Juniper PTX and MX routers, move of our complete Lab setup from one office to the next, and many others.
