WEEE Waste Disposal

A monitor is a monitor, but a desktop, a laptop, a copier and a network appliance can all be hiding storage, and once it is on a WEEE pallet nobody is looking for it. So we strip it first. Drives and SSDs are pulled, barcode scanned, and shredded on the HSM Powerline StoreEx HDS 150 at up to 210 an hour to a 40mm strip at H-3, either at your site or under seal at Heathrow. Only then does the chassis become waste. It is a slower way to run a clearance and it is the only way we are willing to do it.

Clearances tend to happen at the worst possible moment, at the end of a lease with a dilapidations deadline, or over a weekend when the floor has to be empty by Monday. We work nights and weekends. We have done since 1996. Our vans carry payloads from 900 to 1400kg with air ride suspension and 2.5 metre load clearances, and the smallest Renault Trafic will get into an underground car park with a 2.0 metre height restriction, which matters more often than you would think. For bigger volumes the 12 and 18 tonne lorries carry 4000 to 7000kg with cantilever tail lifts.

You get waste transfer notes, consignment notes where a hazardous stream is involved, weights broken down by category, and the WEEE certification issued by the Approved Authorised Treatment Facility that processed the batch. Where drives were destroyed you also get the certificate of destruction with serials, so the two documents reconcile against each other. We are ISO 9001:2015 accredited for logistics services throughout Europe covering storage, packing, courier transportation, IT relocation and installation, and waste disposal, which is the scope that actually covers this work rather than a certificate for something adjacent.
