Pre-Staging Facility

Three 42u racks at Farnborough and one 24u at Heathrow, all with power and full fibre broadband, so a chassis can be built, brought up on the network and left running for as long as you want it running. Both warehouses have three phase power with distribution down to 16 and 32 amp 240 volt sockets, which is what you need for anything with a serious PSU behind it. There are build areas with prep tables at both sites, forklifts, reach trucks and stackers on hand, and a customer hot desk at the Farnborough headquarters. We have hosted client training days in there too. It is a working warehouse, not a showroom.

Hardware comes in, gets de-boxed, and the packaging is recycled here rather than turning up as a skip full of cardboard on your loading bay, which is a small thing until it is your loading bay. We rack it and power it up. Firmware and images go on, rails are fitted, cabling is done to the elevation and everything is tested. We have built OLT chassis, POC lab racks and full 42u pre-staging builds in there. Serials are captured on a handheld barcode scanner as they are booked in and reconciled against your own list, so the asset register is right before the equipment moves rather than after. Kit is then re-boxed or custom packed per site.

Pre-staged kit does not have to ship straight away. Between the two warehouses there are 850 racked pallet spaces and 150 out of gauge floor spaces, just under 10,000 square feet in total, including temperature controlled areas for anything that will not tolerate an unheated bay in February, and stock sits on our warehouse management system, captured by RFID as well as barcode, so you can see what is where. Both sites are alarmed to an NSI Gold alarm receiving centre with police response and covered by 24 hour monitored CCTV. There is a 24 hour call out facility at both if you need something at three in the morning, which does happen. Release is by whatever schedule you set, delivered on our own vehicles or shipped through DHL for the small items.
