Warehousing & Pre-Staging

Farnborough is 6,500 square feet including offices, with 600 racked pallet spaces and 100 out of gauge floor spaces. Heathrow is 2,500 square feet with 250 racked and 50 on the floor, which is just under 10,000 square feet all told. Three fork, reach and stacker trucks at Farnborough and two at Heathrow. Both have three phase power distributed to 16 and 32 amp 240 volt outlets, build areas, prep tables, full fibre broadband and temperature controlled storage areas for stock that should not sit in an unheated bay over winter. Both are alarmed to an NSI Gold alarm receiving centre with police response and watched by 24 hour monitored CCTV. There is parking at both. That sounds trivial until your engineer turns up in his own car at 6am.

Goods come in, get checked against the delivery note and booked onto our warehouse management system, and we run a full inventory management system for client stock so you are not guessing. Where a client wants it, orders are generated automatically from our system and received by email, which suits Alt Net and rollout programmes where the call-off pattern is fairly predictable. Serials are captured with a handheld barcode scanner, and the system takes RFID as well as barcode where a client's stock is already tagged that way. De-boxing and recycling of waste packaging is part of the service, as is re-boxing and custom packing for onward shipment, and we can wrap and band equipment four ways to pallets when it is going export. Long term or short term, both work the same way.

Pre-staging is where the warehouse earns its keep. Three 42u racks at Farnborough and a 24u at Heathrow, all powered and on full fibre, let us build, configure and soak test before anything leaves, and clients can sit at the hot desk at Farnborough and work on their own kit while we do it. Release is on your schedule, in waves, site by site or the lot in one go. Deliveries go out on our own vehicles, plain and unmarked, tracked to street level, with payloads from 900kg up to 7000kg depending on what is going. Small items ship through DHL. If it is going to the EU our own customs agent raises the entries.
